A woman I planned to link with kept rambling about how she wanted to "know me more" before we met up. If I were a total stranger, I’d understand. And look, I’m not opposed to getting familiar. But usually, that means having an actual conversation to bring clarity to who we are as individuals.

People constantly talk themselves out of opportunities. I remember the first time I talked myself out of getting laid. I had gone a whole year without having sex on purpose. Finally, the dry spell was about to end. I was on a date with a woman, and we were heading back to my apartment to continue the night.
Instead of me just vibing and letting the energy flow, I opened my mouth and told her I abstained from sex for a year.
Looking back, I truly don't know why I even said it. Maybe I was proud of my own discipline and my ego wanted validation. It was an instant buzzkill. She told me I completely messed up the mood because it got her thinking instead of feeling. She started over-analyzing how much sex I must have been having before to make me stop on purpose.

Look at the culture. I still think R. Kelly is one of the greatest R&B artists ever. I respect his artistry and musical accomplishments. That's the surface-level version of him before his XXX tape dropped back in the day. He was the "I Believe I Can Fly" guy.
The moment the public started learning about his personal life, everything went downhill. Most people state they can't even listen to his music anymore due to his crimes. But let's be real—if we knew the deeper, dark realities of most celebrities, corporations, or governments, we would boycott all of them.
